Mothers' Union December 2018

Dear Fellow Members,

“A shoot shall grow from the stock of Jesse and a branch shall spring from his roots”  Isaiah 111

Our November meeting was very much an occasion for Remembering.  John led us in prayer by remembering the very special 100th Anniversary of the end of the first World War.  Our meeting was one of preparation during which we were remembering Jesus’ family tree.  The Jesse Tree.  We shall be holding a family service on 2nd December led by the Mothers’ Union which will take us through the links from Adam and Eve to Jesus birth.  For this, members prepared a number of symbols which will be hung on the tree at the service.  Our special guest was Michelle who, along with Harry and Hollie, had drawn all the symbols for us to colour.  All enjoyed this time of sharing and remembering.   Our little raffle was won by  Marnie and all enjoyed a cuppa and cake (complements of Hazelwood – left over from their Remembrance party!!).  Happy Birthday was sung to Olga and Kay and a special birthday card was signed by all present to give to Gladys on her 90th birthday.

Next month is our Christmas Party (December 20th).  Always a lovely evening.

A reminder to those who have not yet given me their subs that it is £25 for ordinary member and £17 for Indoor member.  Do please give me a ring if you would like me to collect it from you.  I need all the money in before the end of the year in order to send it on.

Enjoy your Advent time and remember to take a moment in each busy day to remind yourselves of what Advent is really about.

With love             Kay
