Mothers' Union September 2017

Dear Fellow Members,

There was no branch meeting in August as we have a break. However, those of you who managed to come to Saul for the Mary Sumner Day picnic will, I’m sure, agree that it was a very pleasant afternoon. Although the morning weather made us wonder, members from all over the county came along and were rewarded with a lovely afternoon, if a bit chilly. There was lots of chatter and people meeting up with old friends and making new friends. Stroud Deanery hosted the event and provided a variety of homemade cakes as well as the obligatory drinks, for which donations were asked.  People were very generous and, after paying the Hall fee of £30 we were able to send £46 to the office to be divided between A.F.I.A. and Diocesan Funds.

The afternoon ended with Olga leading a short act of worship.

A lovely time had by all.

At the time of writing I have just heard that Gladys has been taken into hospital. Please pray for her and for Glenis’s mum who has also been very unwell and, of course, for all who are unwell at this time.

With Love, Kay.

Sunday 3rd September:            Wave of Prayer – in church 11.20-12.10 – this will, of course, follow from our normal Sunday 9.45 service.  Do let us know if you would like to come.

Thursday 21st September: – meeting at Hazelwood, 7.30pm – The wave of prayer service will be repeated for those who could not come on the day.
