Mothers' Union September 2019

Dear Fellow Members.

No real news from August as we do not have a meeting.  However those who went enjoyed the Picnic at Moreton in Marsh on Mary Sumner Day.  Always a good time of fellowship.   We hope you have had a good summer and look forward to seeing you at our September meeting when we hope to welcome Thelma Cowley who will talk to us about the mobile chemo unit.

Audrey is settling in to her new home in Scotland and was very pleased with the flowers from MU – her email follows:-

Dear Mothers’ Union Members

My lovely flowers were delivered and taken in by my neighbour whilst I was at Dunblane for Mary Sumner Day. Thank you so much for them. Luckily my vases have been unpacked and I have found a space to put them. We had a good service followed by a Bring and Share lunch so I have met and begun to know some more fellow members

I was thinking of the Gloucester Diocese and hope the picnic went well even if it had to be inside

Thanks and love to everyone                                                  Audrey

PLEASE NOTE – Our Wave of Prayer slot is again being kindly hosted by Joan Vick.  This is on Tuesday 3rd September.  11.20am-12.10pm.  Joan would like to know numbers please, so again please inform Kay or Ruth if you would like to attend.  Lifts can be arranged.

A Thank You from Audrey

Please thank everyone for my lovely card and the kind messages!

I am missing you all but getting to know the Holy Trinity folk - going to the Mary Sumner Day service - which was great and included a lovely display of MU banners ( some very old) - helped and I've begun attending the Thursday morning Eucharist - incredibly well attended for a weekday service - and this is followed by everyone sitting down together and chatting over coffee/tea and bikkies - and getting to know people better through that. The decorators still haven't finished (like St Cyr’s when we had to manage, they had the privilege of using their hall)  so we are still camping in the hall for services - there is a funeral of a church member on Tuesday so it is hoped this will be able to take place in the church.

My love to everyone                           Audrey

PS I've got my windows open this morning - the first day I've been able to do that for over a week without being blown across the room. Living on the coast has some disadvantages :-)

Christmas Eve Crib Service

Once again as we approach Autumn my thoughts are moved to think about our Christmas Eve Crib service. I have some ideas for this service and it would be good to share them and work with whoever would like to help me. Please contact me if you would like to share thoughts and ideas about our Crib Service.
